Windsurfing in the Pensacola Bay Area

Windsurfing in Pensacola

Pensacola Beach was once home to a large windsurfing community and home to a couple windsurfing shops. One of those shops was called Surf-n-Sail. The shop was located close to where Red Fish Blue Fish is today. It was a great local hangout and home to local and national windsurfing regattas. It was the place I learned to windsurf and it’s there I’d work teaching lessons years later.

There’s an emerging interest in windsurfing happening. With the popularity of stand-up-paddleboarding, windsurfing is a perfect addition. Windsurfing companies are starting to produce boards that are great for both windsurfing and paddleboarding. For the Pensacola Bay Area, longer boards such as the Kona One Design and Hula windsurfing boards are an ideal choice. The boards work well in light and heavy winds.

Not only is windsurfing a ton of fun, it’s also great for the entire family. If you’re looking for a fun way to enjoy outdoor time with your friends and family, you should check out windsurfing.
