Join An Outdoor Group

group paddleboardIt’s a new year! Perhaps you’ve made resolutions to get in better health this year. If you’re not sure where to start or you need some help getting motivated, check out some of these area outdoor groups.

Florida Trail Association Western Gate chapter is a group that meets weekly for hiking, canoeing, and kayaking. They conduct the paddle trips in the summer months when not hiking. They also help maintain the Florida Trail from its western terminus at Fort Pickens, Gulf Islands National Seashore, through Eglin Air Force Base to the Chocwhatchee River, and north through Blackwater River State Forest to the Alabama border. There are many opportunities to explore and volunteer on trails in Florida.

Also, check out the Meet-Up page, if you’re interested in joining.
Get motivated and get outdoors!

In 2011, FOF expanded into the Perdido area and runs a FOF Boot Camp program at the Hellen Caro Elementary School field.

Also, if you just want to get outside for walking and enjoying the outdoors with new friends and your art supplies. Don’t forget about the Plein Air Painters Of Pensacola.
