Escambia County Holds a Sole Purpose Meeting to Discuss Jones Swamp Trail Extension

Jones Swamp TrailThe Escambia County Water Quality and Land Management Division will hold a public meeting for the sole purpose of discussing the proposed Southwest Greenway Trail Extension. The meeting will be Tuesday March 29, 4:00 p.m. at Escambia County Central Office Complex, 3363 West Park Place.

The proposed Jones Swamp Trail Extension will extend the Southwest Greenway Trail from Lexington Terrace Park and Community Center east to Fairfield Drive. The trail will be part of the eventual 25 mile Southwest Greenway Trail linking to the Tarkiln Bayou State Park Preserve.

The Water Quality and Land Management Division is seeking grant funding for the Jones Swamp Trail Extension from the Recreational Trails Program administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
