Back To School Adventures

Back To School Adventures copy

Many of you have children who will be going back to school in the next couple of weeks, officially starting back to homeschool, or even heading off to college. You’ve done the supply shopping and are ready. But, before the busyness of school and other activities make it difficult to spend time on an adventure together, you can take one now. Even if you took a family vacation, you can go somewhere nearby that doesn’t have to cost a lot. Here are a few places and activities we’ve enjoyed to help inspire your own back–to–school family adventures.

Gulf State ParkThis campground has something for everyone. You can rent a cabin or bring camping equipment and stay a night or longer. They have lakes, beach access, biking trails, a swimming pool and splash pad, golf course, and even new Gulf Adventure Center Hummingbird Ziplines!

Kayak Bayview Park

In case you haven’t realized it, Bayview Park has its own little adventure center! Take your kids for a picnic or cookout and rent kayaks, sups, and even a small sailboat. Bring bikes and skateboards and play on the playground, too. The playground sprays mist and the water near the boat launches are refreshing places for keeping cool. It’s a great, convenient and inexpensive  place to spend time with your family!

RayOnly a few days to plan? A SUP adventure is perfect for people of all ages! Children as young as eight years old can join in on learning to stand-up-paddleboard (SUP). A board is a great way to enjoy the water and view the sea life. You can customize a family eco paddle tour, a back-to-school party, or a unique birthday party to include water discovery and more.
