Escambia County Marine Resources along with the Florida and National Park services, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Ocean Conservancy are hosting a coastal cleanup on Saturday, September 15. If you would like to volunteer see the times and locations listed below:
Pensacola Beach:
8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Park West
Park East
LandSharks, just east of Margaritaville
Pensacola Bay:
8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Project Greenshores, northwest side of Highway 98 Pensacola Bay Bridge
Perdido Key:
8 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Perdido Key State Park
Perdido Bay at Tarklin Bayou State Park
Gulf Islands National Seashore:
8 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Santa Rosa area: Opal Beach, sound side
Perdido Key area: meet at Johnson Beach picnic area
Naval Live Oaks area: meet at the south side picnic pavilion
Fort Pickens area: Langdon Beach, sound side
Coastal cleanup volunteers are advised to wear closed-toed shoes, gloves, sunscreen and hats. Bringing water is advised. Families, individuals, businesses and community groups can choose their favorite location. Upon arrival check in with the site captain for trash bags, data cards and further instructions.
