Intracoastal Outfitters, a Downtown Pensacola outdoor footwear and apparel shop, is celebrating their 2nd Annual One Day Without Shoes barefoot event on April 16th, 2013. The event, inspired by philanthropic shoe company TOMS, will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Intracoastal Outfitters’ downtown location (701 E. Gregory Street). Guests will be encouraged to go barefoot for the afternoon and will be rewarded with free food and beverages and live music by Michael Lockwood, all while supporting the local charity, Gulf Coast Kid’s House.
One Day Without Shoes is an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact something as simple as a pair of shoes can have in a child’s life. Since 2006 TOMS has been helping children with their One for One program. For each pair of shoes purchased by consumers, TOMS donates a pair to a child in need. All proceeds from Intracoastal Outfitters’ event will go towards helping the Gulf Coast Kids House acquire shoes for children in need under their care. Donations will be appreciated at the event but are certainly not required.
Anyone interested in participating can registers for the event by going to www.facebook.com/IntracoastalOutfitters/events. Anyone interested in learning more about TOMS’ global philanthropy efforts can go to www.OneDayWithoutShoes.com.
